Wash Care

For Organic Cotton Garments with Natural Dyes & Natural Colour Prints

At Eco Color Store, our garments are thoughtfully made using organic cotton, natural dyes, and natural colour printing methods. Proper care helps maintain fabric quality, colour character, and garment longevity.

1. Washing

  • Machine Wash Cold (Maximum 30°C): Wash garments in cold water to preserve fabric strength and minimise colour change.
  • Gentle or Delicate Cycle: Use a gentle wash cycle to reduce friction and protect the fibres and natural colouring.
  • Wash Separately (Recommended): Naturally dyed and printed garments may release slight excess colour during initial washes.
  • Turn Garments Inside Out: This helps protect the fabric surface and natural colour prints.

2. Detergent

  • Use Mild, Eco-Friendly Detergent: Choose detergents free from harsh chemicals, bleach, optical brighteners, or artificial fragrances.
  • Avoid Fabric Softeners: Fabric softeners can coat natural fibres and reduce breathability.
  • No Bleach or Strong Stain Removers: These can damage organic cotton fibres and natural dyes or prints.

3. Drying

  • Air Dry Only: Lay flat or hang in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
  • Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged sun exposure may affect natural colours.
  • Do Not Tumble Dry: Heat may cause shrinkage and weaken the fabric over time.

4. Ironing

  • Low Heat Ironing: Iron on a low setting if required.
  • Iron Inside Out: This protects natural colour prints and dyed surfaces.
  • Steam Ironing Recommended: Steam helps remove wrinkles without excessive heat.

5. Storage

  • Store in a Cool, Dry Place:
Keep garments away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight.
  • Ensure Proper Ventilation:
Avoid sealed plastic storage for long periods.

6. Stain Care

  • Spot Clean Gently: Use cold water and mild detergent.
  • Do Not Scrub Aggressively: Harsh rubbing may affect fabric texture and natural colouring.

7. Natural Dye & Natural Colour Print Care Note

Natural dyes and natural colour prints may gently soften over time with regular washing. This is a natural characteristic of minimally processed fabrics and reflects the use of natural colouring methods rather than synthetic chemical treatments.

Important Care Disclaimer

  • Colour variation and gentle changes over time are not defects but part of the natural dyeing and printing process.
  • Improper washing, use of harsh detergents, bleach, or tumble drying may result in damage and will not be eligible for exchanges or claims.
